Fontos volt ezen az estén sok mindent tisztázni. Pontosan definiáltuk az igazi Industrial Design fogalmát, rávilágítottunk a társadalmi kérdésekre és probléma csoportokra.

Ismertettük designfilozófiánkat, aminek alapja a világban végbemenő totális tárgyi redukcióról szól. A soha nem látott tárgyi és tervezői átalakulás vízióját és egy gyakorlati megtestesítőjét vázoltuk fel, középpontban a VÍZRESZÁLLÁS projekt gyártmányával, a 4 fős tengeri túravitorlással. Ebben a most készülő eszközben fogjuk először tesztelni gondolataink létjogosultságát. Azt a létjogosultságot, miszerint a jövőben sokkal kevesebb tárgyat kell előállítanunk, de ezzel fordított arányban meg kell emelnünk a minőségi színvonalat.

Igazán jó, hasznos eszközöket szeretnénk az emberek kezébe adni. Felhívtuk a figyelmet hogy a fogyasztói társadalom, minden a bolygónkat érintő átalakuláson túl, végletesen kiüresíti a Homo Sapienst. Kijelentettük, hogy az emberiség elfordult a természeti világtól és idegenként él benne. A mesterséges környezeteinkben összezsúfolt degenerációt csak az egyensúlyi állapothoz való visszatéréssel lehet orvosolni. Ezért olyan tárgyat fejlesztünk, ami valami újra hívja a felhasználóját. Új minőségre a természetben. Igazi felhasználóknak fejlesztünk és elfelejtjük a fogyasztó fogalmát. Vissza kívánjuk adni az örömöt, amit egy tárgy újra és újra megadhat a használójának, hosszútávon is. Visszaadjuk a tiszteletet azoknak, akiknek a kezébe adunk valamit. Így maga a tárgy is formálni fogja a viselkedést. Egy minőségi viselkedésformára inspirál, ami alkalmassá tehet minket a természet újbóli megismerésére.

Pozitív, újító, még is alapvető gondolatokra és tervezői viselkedésre koccintottunk Szendeff Lőrinc barátom étel eszenciájával. Nagyon jó kis este volt, tele energiával.

Legközelebb pedig már az egyik kutatási helyszínről jelentkezem, ahol javában zajlik a munka.

We have officially embarked on our program with a project opening ceremony that took place within the framework of the 2016 Budapest Design Week.

It was essential to clarify a number of issues. We have meticulously defined the notion of the sound ‘Industrial Design’ and in addition to that we also shed light on several social issues and problem complexes. Our design philosophy, which is based on the on-going total reduction of objects, was presented as well. We have also sketched the vision of a hitherto unseen transformation of objects and designers. An actual example was also provided by focusing on the 4-person sailboat which is the main product of the project Setting Sail. We are going to test the validity of our thoughts on this nascent product. Our premiss is that in the future we should produce significantly fewer products, and at the same time we should proportionately enhance the standards of quality. We would like to give people products which are truly good, useful and ‘valid’. We have also cast light on the fact that, more than any other transformation that has a considerable impact on our planet, it is costumers’ society which makes Homo Sapiens utterly void. We also emphasised that humanity turned away from the natural world and lives in it currently as a stranger. The artificial degeneration which is being accumulated in our surroundings can only be healed by returning to the state of balance again. Therefore we develop such a product which invites its user to embrace a new story. That is the story of high quality in the nature. We are developing for real users and we completely forget the concept of ‘consumer’. We would like to give back the pleasure to the users that a product can multiple times give to its owner, even on the long term. We give the respect back to those who will pick up and use our products. This way the product itself will also have an impact on human behaviour. It invites us to get to know a new form of behaviour that will enable us to rediscover the nature.

We saluted positive, innovative, but still fundamental thoughts and designer’s behaviour with the food essence of my friend Lőrinc Szendeff.

It was a really fun and energetic night. Next time, I will report from the scenes of one of my research projects where the work and developing will be taking place.
