Designed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the JEM Internal Ball Camera - informally "Int-Ball" - is a bit larger than a softball, can float and maneuver by itself but also be controlled remotely, can take high resolution images and videos. Int-Ball was delivered to the ISS in early June and is designed to allow ground-control to increase the monitoring of ISS equipment and activities while decreasing time demands on human astronauts.

A nap képe: Légkörfény őrület

Már a La Palma-i utazásunk első éjszakáján észrevettük képeinken a rendkívül erős légkörfényt, ami a napok teltével egyre intenzívebb lett. A kép készítésekor már szabad szemmel is látható volt a felfénylés az ég alján. A Tejút-centrum fotózás után egészen hajnal 3 óráig kellett várnunk, hogy elkészíthessem ezt a panorámát, amely egy népszerű hely szokatlan oldalát mutatja, a vulkáni kaldera belseje helyett a peremét láthatjuk a képen.
